Rosalyn M. Simon, Ph.D., President/CEO of SIMON & SIMON Research and Associates, Inc., a management consultant practice in Elkridge, Maryland that provides research, professional development and training and other organization development services.
Dr. Simon has served as an educator, senior-level manager in the public and private sector, consultant and public policy analyst. She holds a Ph.D. in Special Education, a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education.
Dr. Simon is an experienced, innovative educator devoted to education and learning. She is skilled in curriculum development, instructional design, and on-site facilitation. Dr. Simon has developed and provided training to public and private organizations nation wide. As part of the SIMON & SIMON career and leadership development program, she developed and facilitates Workplace Wardrobe Workshop and Workplace Etiquette Workshop.
Workshop 2, Essential Elements for Starting a Business in Maryland State
Facilitator: Mr. Kenneth Clark, President/CEO, Maryland / District of Columbia Minority Supplier Development Council
Kenneth E. Clark is the President and CEO of the Maryland/District of Columbia Minority Supplier Development Council. In this role he manages one of the 38 councils of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. The Councils are responsible for certifying minority-owned businesses and advocating for procurement opportunities for them with major corporations and other buying organizations through networking, training and procurement programs including the Annual Business Procurement Conference which features a trade fair and business matchmaker.
Mr. Clark retired in 2003 as the Vice President of External Affairs for Verizon Washington, DC after a career in engineering, operations, international project management and public affairs. He is a Past Chair of the MD/DC Minority Supplier Development Council Board of Directors and the Founding Chair of the Steering Committee of the National Capital Minority Business Opportunity Committee among several other leadership positions in area organizations. Mr. Clark is a graduate of Morgan State University with a degree in Physics.
Workshop 3, Good Financial Moves During Unemployment
Facilitator: Mr. Ivory Johnson, Director of Financial Planning, Scarborough Capital Management
Ivory Johnson is the Director of Financial Planning at Scarborough Capital Management, Inc., which offers education, financial planning, 401(k) and asset management to help investors maximize their retirement assets. Ivory helps clients identify their personal and financial objectives and subsequently develops a blueprint to help accomplish those goals. He is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) practitioner and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). He holds Series 7 and Series 66 licenses, as well as licenses to advise on life, health and variable insurance products.
As a Retirement Advisor of Scarborough Capital Management, he also is a separately registered representative of, and offers securities through, Royal Alliance Associates, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC. Ivory’s professional background includes work as an investment adviser with Charles Schwab and Prudential Securities. He has also served as an Associate Vice President with First Union National Bank, where he provided estate planning, business succession planning, and portfolio management for individual and institutional clients of the firm. Ivory recently owned and operated a financial planning practice for several years, beginning in the late 1990’s. Ivory has appeared as a guest on CNBC, Fox TV and has appeared in several publications, including US News & World Report, Financial Planning Interactive, The New York Times, Black Enterprise, The Journal of Financial Planning, and has appeared on the front cover of Financial Planning Magazine. He attended Penn State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

Facilitator: Kesi Stribling, CEO & Chief Strategist, KSE Strategic Consulting
CEO & Chief Strategist of KSG Strategic Consulting, Kesi Stribling is a noted consultant, freelance writer, and frequent guest speaker on business strategies, strategic alliance building, marketing, and training and development. She is also the founder of 100 Days In, a movement designed to connect stakeholders to the change we need.
For more than a decade, Kesi has served as a business practitioner and advisor on issues impacting corporations and nonprofit institutions. Most notably, Kesi Stribling served as Senior Staff to the President of the American Red Cross, a nonprofit organization grossing $1 billion in support of global relief efforts. Kesi advised the president in the areas of communications and marketing; strategic planning; diversity; human resources; volunteers, youth and nursing; and, health, safety and community services. As a consultant, Kesi has worked with businesses and organizations including Howard University, Divi Holding Group, The aRi Group, LLC, Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children.
In 2006, Kesi was the youngest person recognized as one of The Philadelphia Tribune’s Most Influential African Americans, 10 to Watch Under 40. The same year she was honored during Women’s History Month by the Rho Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. In 2007, Kesi received the Alumni Volunteer Leader of the year award from the Howard University Alumni Association.
Kesi’s professional memberships include the American Marketing Association, Society for Human Resource Management, and Washington Women in Public Relations. An avid community servant, Kesi serves on the board of directors for the March of Dimes, Greater Washington, DC and the Greater Washington Power to End Stroke Task Force (American Heart Association/American Stroke Association). She has previously served on the Maryland Compensation Task Force, Montgomery County, MD and the Mayor’s Neighborhood Action Committee under former Mayor Anthony Williams in Washington, DC.
Kesi’s civic memberships include Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; The Links, Incorporated, and The Junior League. She is a proud graduate of Howard University.
